Thought it might be worth posting a topic new users can reply to so we can see where referals to the Jamma+ community are coming from.
My story: I found this site on the Retrogamer forum - I had seen a youtube video about Arcade and Storage auctions in the US so did a google search to see if we had anything similar. "Arcade Auction UK" led me to: From there DonkeySpank, Shadowman and Levon2807 all recommended this as the best Arcade hub for the UK and here I am!

'forcefulfil' talked about JAMMA+ when he visited me to buy old invaders some years ago.. then the more and more members i encountered selling on ebay, especially as i was 'sinfully' burning hundreds of various arcade machines at that time.......i eventually decided , to read what was actually being written about me on here.which meant joining the forum........ it wasn't so bad and i can take the odd 'critic' comment with the many praises so ..........
now i feel quite at home here and with over 30 years experience in amusements , glad to help out if i can with a bit of tech talk and supply of odd parts, when i see a deserving case........ (all the users seem like friendly people and all with a fairly common interest) and i too learn a lot i didnt know......all good fun in the end !!!!!!!!! just stay safe while playing

dsyde! I was looking into the Electrocoin Goliath cab I'd bought off eBay, found http://www.electrocoin.uk.com/ and emailed them. Got a response simply saying "are you on JAMMA+ forum? The people there might be able to help you". I thought it an odd response as I was emailing an electrocoin specialist about an electrocoin and he sends me the way of a forum
. But now it makes sooooo much sense. Good call dsyde .

Errgh, I almost forgot about that kitchen ceiling catastrophe.
Nothing like being woken up to the sound of a ceiling crashing down in your kitchen and smashing all your cups/plates and pans and cutlery flying everywhere. That was on the morning of Charakade I think

I'd priginally heard of J+ through BYOAC. That's the main site I frequent because I'm mainly into building my own Mame projects. Of course I still love the original stuff (it's what I grew up on after all) but I'm not into the collecting side of things. I simply don't have the room for full size cabinets.
From BYOAC I learned of J+ and KLOV but I only joined J+ as a poster last year after the R3play event. I saw the great turnout and I spoke to one or two of you guys. The fact that it's mainly UK based makes it a no-brainer really (BYOAC is mainly US based) as it means there's much more likely to be an event going on that I can attend. I've seen you had events in the past in Wakefield and Huddersfield that I could bring stuff to (I'm in Leeds) so I'm a bit annoyed with myself that I missed those. I would deffo have attended had I seen they were on. |

It was either google or neo-geo.com for me. Either way, it was a good call.

I'd decided to expand my retro collection to include an arcade machine having always wanted one. I was ploughing through eBay and google gathering prices and info when I stumbled onto J+. That was back in 2005!

I was googling the difference between JAMMA and JAMMA+ and no matter what I searched for I kept ending up here. Eventually, I just gave up and stayed.
