Earliest memory I have is playing BattleZone, looking through the periscope really put you into the environment and blocked everything else out.
This was on holidays in Tenby, South Wales. We went there quite a few times while I was young and most nights I would have a few games on it. Can't recall what other games were at that arcade other than that! |

First arcade game I ever got my hands on was Tekken. First game I ever played was one of those Pong games that claimed it had tennis, hockey etc on it. Used to have to beg my dad to give up the TV so I could play it, haha!

The first video game that I remember playing is space invaders on an Atari 2600. I must have been around 5 or 6 years old at the time. Space Invaders is probably the reason that I've always had a soft spot for arcade shooters.
First arcade game was probably pacman. I'll probably end up buying a pacman cocktail cabinet one day for the nostalgia. |

The first I clearly remember is Midway T2 when I was 11. Probably wasn't my first but certainly the first I remember. We used to spend loads of time in Southsea as kids, my dads best mate owned a pub there. Parents would sit in the pub all Eve, my 3 brothers and I would be sent out into the arcades

First game I remember playing is Choplifter down my local cafe, always tried the trick of trying to get a coin with a piece of cotton glued to it to get free credits - never worked properly and struggled to get past the first wave of enemies

The first game I played was probably Space Invaders in the arcade. I thought it was amazing and the way you could hide behind the shields and the fact that they were destructable made it special to me. Also it was the one with the mirrored background, so it looked great.
The first home game was maybe Jet Set Willy on a friend's ZX Spectrum. How we loved that game! Edited by Missile5 - 01 January 2016 at 8:09pm |

Phoenix in an arcade in Pleasureland, Southport, NW UK. Then spent teenage yrs getting a 'saveaway' with my mates to go round the arcades. The Southport seaside arcades introduced me to gauntlet, rastan, world cup 90 and commando in particular. Great days! 'Can't go back...'

Earliest arcade memory I have is playing Asteroids at a local pizza parlor. I was so small I needed a stool to reach the controls, or to be lifted up by a parent to reach them. Those glowing vectors burned a path through my brain - I was hooked.

Some minefield-type game in a squash club near Great Yarmouth back in the very early eighties. Can't think of the name of it now...

I'm so old it would have been Boot Hill at Pontins in Southport.
They had another game where you had a crosshair in the centre of the screen and dragged planes into it to shoot them down. I can't remember the name of that though. |

earliest memory I have of playing video games was when I was about 4 playing burgertime on a colecovision at a neighbor's house while they were babysitting me and my brother. whenever I went there I would always play their colecovision, but burgertime was about the only playable game, for me.

Seawolf, Great Yarmouth, 1976. Being 4 at the time, I had trouble reaching the periscope, even when I was standing on the step...
