Anybody tried one of these yet? If so, how do they run/compare with the 'tornado' boards?

The device seems to be running android judging from some screenshots, so this means it will likely have an ARM cpu with say, 700-800 Mhz at least, which _should_ be plenty to run most of the games they have listed.

Also opens up the options to hacking/modding the thing to run more games.

I found a video of this thing here, but it just shows the menu, not actual gameplay.

Android dialogue box in this screenshot:

I am hoping someone on here has one (or tried it) and can tell something more about the specs (if they opened up the box) or how the thing runs in general (boot up time etc.)

* Disclaimer: I am not selling these, i do not work for the company who makes them, and purposely did not link to websites where they are being sold :)

Hi guys , I'm the real mrjibbztpp that posted that video lol ,
I opened the case from the board and took some pics that you can check out here : http://imageupper.com/g/?S020001007I13789101722368129

I am waiting on my brother in law to make me a custom bartop arcade cabinet to put it in..... So the Jamma board is sitting in the corner of the basement for now.

I will be sure to keep you guys updated once i get the board up and running and let you know how it plays.

Thanks for posting this, I've been looking for an android emulation base for a long time.  I have a few questions:
- Where did you get this thing from?
- Does the writing on the case say DVI and VGA?
- Did it come with a manual?
- What else can you tell us?

- China LOL
- It does say DVI and VGA but the DVI port is blocked off and it does not have a DVI connector fitted ( Just 2 VGA connections )
- It did come with a manual but all in Chinese
- It says 1024 x 768 for the resolution. The JAMMA board cannot connect to CGA ... This is a VGA only board. The On screen menus are in Engrish lol
I still have not got the cabinet made yet so i cannot do any real testing. I did wire it up to a power supply again today and launched a game by touching the wire together ( Player 1 Start and Ground ) and i found a few other things .... If you launch a game and leave it sitting on the main attract screen after about 1 min a message pops up saying exiting game in 3....2....1.... ( You can stop the exit by pressing a key ) or it will exit back to the menu. I'm not sure if you can exit the games with a button press aswell ( Either a combo of buttons or pressing and holding buttons ) .
SO after you play a game you might need to wait a min before selecting a new game ( More testing is needed to know for sure )
The Videos that play on the main menu are great usually showing both the title screen and a section of gameplay..... but some of the sound levels vary alot .... every now and again a video will play with really loud sound. I do not like sound on the menu screens so hopefully there is a option to turn that off. The game i launched was one of the KOF games and it sounded great compared to other multiboards i have used in the past.

That is all i can tell you for now , More info after i put this together.

BTW sharpfork , I actually know you from the KADE website , I am also "pred75" that built the PS3 arcade using the KADE Device. Shocked

Ok so i took a gander at those pics. There seems to be a microSD slot which is not wired up, no parts soldered there, so no luck for upgrades or an easy way 'in' so to say.

There are also two 6-pin headers, one might hold rs232 serial port for communications with a PC com port. Plus, the large area of solder/pushbutton(?) pads (4 pads, 3 pads, 4 pads) might be for menu/home/back/vol+/vol- etc. buttons as a normal Android unit would have.

Biggest problem is no USB (or SD) port so it might be difficult to get additional roms into the system.
This also means if the unit is somehow dead, crashed or broken internal storage, it becomes useless :(

Can you take a closeup of the round copper pad area in the center please?
Also the 6 pin header area if possible? (there seems to be more copper pads there too.)

If i'm right, the copper pads (for 'pogo' pins) might be the key into the system.
Factory would usually need a way to flash the device, so the pogo pins might be SD/USB/Serial port as well. With a multimeter you could find out a little bit more as well.

Alternatives would be to desolder the NAND (single chip) on the daughtercard, and dump that, but that's a bit harsh considering there are more options to explore at this stage :)

Here are the results from a few hours of gameplay today .....

Emulation seemed great on the games that i tried , very smooth and i did not notice any slowdowns .

High scores are not save after power down :(

Audio is great but i felt that on some games the audio seemed slighly out of sync. I originally connected it to a cheap chinese speaker and it sounded really bad but i later switched to a old arcade speaker and it sounded really good .... No popping or crackling.

Credits seem to be locked to 9 credits max .

You can exit a game with button presses which is a combo of "player 1 start" and "coin"
If you wired this to a coin door it would cause issues because you would need to insert a coin to exit while holding start.

When you load a NEO GEO game the sound is bad during the NEO GEO Logo but it is fine once the game starts.

If you can live with the issues i posted then it is worth a look ..... I've only tried a few of these multiboards and this is the best one so far.

If you take requests, it would be interresting to see how these run:

#63 Final Fight (Bad frameskip in many boards.)
#27 SF III (From the list, it would be most hardware-intense because of the SH2 emulation.)
#58 Punisher (This also stutters on many boards.)
Any vertical game (to see how they handle that on a horizontal screen.)
#130 Wondering what 'Rainbow' is.. :)
#248 Moonwalker: To see if the special attack sound samples sync up properly :)

Other than that, it seems to run pretty damn good!

They can be found on several Chinese sites, like AliExpress but i am not sure if i can link to them here.

The board seems a bit risky, there are no recovery options like USB, SD or uSD card slots, so if it dies, it seems (for now) impossible to repair.

#130 Rainbow = Rainbow Islands
#248 Moonwalker - Does not boot to Moonwalker ( It actually boots to Shock Troopers.... Disappointing ... I will be locking this one out of the list )
#63 , #27 and #58 can all be seen running in the video.

The video is currently uploading and processing , Keep checking back if it isn't available.

Sorry for the poor quality video ... I was holding the Camera in my right hand and trying to play left handed ( It's impossible ... I should buy a tripod or something lol )

The video shows me starting in the admin menu and saving my settings. Then launching a few of the games requested by Asure.

My Brother in law still has not built my cabinet yet so i quickly made a cabinet over the last couple of days for the Saint JAMMA. The build took less than 20 hours so it is not that great ( I have no skills with a circular saw neither lol ) but it works.
I still need to wire up the LED buttons to the arcade power supply.

One thing i find really annoying is quiting games , Some games seem to quit when you press coin and Player 1 start at the exact same time .... Other games seem to require you to press coin first for a sec then press Player 1 start.
