My first was pong in a shack in Llandudno North Wales on a piss wet afternoon.

Can't remember exactly when but it cost 2d, so it must have been during either pre-decimalisation or during the change over.

Mine was in the 'lovely' town of Maldon in Essex sometime in the late 70's. It was some rubbish racing game which had a conveyer belt type contraption with the track printed on it and the cars were, I'm fairly sure, projected on to it. You got a free credit for beating the score or time or whatever.

I got so bored with it I tried to crash off the side of the road and discovered that if you steered over to the extreme right of the track you could not crash or get hit by the other cars and you (nearly) always got a free credit.

How things have changed...

I struggle to remember what I did last week, but I would put money on Asteroids in the early 80s, back when the fairground arcades were actually decent.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my sanity the most.

Boot Hill in weymouth 1977 was my first arcade play on the pier , just couldn't stop playing it , that and sea wolf (had to stand on the block of wood to see).

Sweet memories

It was Pontoon on a Fairchild Channel F when I was about 5/6 years old (178/79???).  My dad had picked one up from somewhere and brought it home.  We only had two cartridges and as I remember we spent more time with those bizzare triangle headed controllers in pieces on the coffee table as my dad tried to fix them than actually using them.  It not only started me on the slippery slope of video games but thanks to my dads fustrations taught me more swear words that I could use in a lifetime - sigh - thanks dad.

A lovely big 4 player Gauntlet I think was my first arcade experience at school lunch time in the youth club, the fights that used to break out if you got the food before someone else.  They had a double dragon in there too.

One of the first time I went to a proper arcade was in Brighton on my own I remember seeing Streetfighter 2 I was half way through a game and some tall scarey looking bloke came over and put a load of money and then just stood away from the machine.  Bit a bit naieve I thought he was been friendly and had put the money in for me and he didn't take kindly to me pressing the continue button when I was beat.  Luckily I legged it before he gave me his own streetfighter moves.

I really can't remember the first coin-op - I think it may have been Pac Land. I would have been really young.

Balls, this is upsetting actually, its something I'd like to remember!

I remember the first videogame I played (console) which was Donkey Kong on the NES.

Always outnumbered, never outgunned.

The first I can remember playing was a centipede cocktail. I can't remember where.

Also remember a local arcade having a Boot Hill, gauntlet and Rampage.

My local swimming pool also had a scramble, gravitar and sit down starwars. I spent lot of pocket money on Gravitar.

First arcade game? Really not sure, but it's likely Rush n Crash/Speed Rumbler. Earliest arcade memory I have anyway.
